Child Care Resource and Referral Services (CCR&R)

This benefit is available for the following funds:

  • Child Care Fund
  • Greater NY Child Care Fund

Need help finding a licensed day care center, child care provider or after-school care?

Call the Child Care Resource and Referral Services (CCR&R). Counselors will provide eligible members with referrals to participating providers.

The CCR&R also provides services to working parents, including a series of seminars offered throughout the year to help parents balance work and family responsibilities. All programs are free for CCF members and child care is provided. Upcoming parenting seminars are listed below. All seminars are free. Please RSVP by calling (646) 695-7408.

The 1199SEIU Child Care Funds sponsor a series of Parenting Seminars, which focus on the challenges many parents face as they raise and educate their children in an increasingly demanding world. The seminars are free and will take place at the following locations:

Things To Do With Your Family On Any Budget 
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 – 6:00PM to 8:00PM
The goal of this seminar is to discover the events or activities taking place during the fall and winter that you may enjoy  with your family, learn together, or do to bond as a family at little or no cost.

Protecting Your Children From Online Predators 
Thursday, October 16, 2008 – 6:00PM to 8:00PM
Get the tools you need to protect and monitor your children’s safety as they learn and explore the Internet.

Preparing Your Teen For College, Part I 
Tuesday, October 28, 2008 – 6:00PM to 8:00PM
Learn what you can do as parents of college-bound teens to effectively prepare your young scholars for college and make informed decisions that will benefit their educational future.

College Financial Aid Preparation 
Tuesday, December 2, 2008 – 6:00PM to 8:00PM
Take the guesswork out of the financial aid process by learning methods for completing necessary forms and grant applications.

Your Teen’s Transition from Middle School to High School 
Tuesday, September 30, 2008 – 6:00PM to 8:00PM
Just when teens have triumphed over middle school, the challenges of high school present themselves. The goal of this seminar is to help parents begin the process of letting go while remaining supportive.

Transitioning Your Preschooler to Elementary School
