Benefit Funds Support Your 1199SEIU Patients in Preventing and Managing Diabetes

Nearly a third of 1199SEIU members are diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes—which is well above the national average. To support the care you provide, the Benefit Funds offer an impactful program that can help your 1199SEIU patients better manage their conditions.

The Diabetes Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program, administered by InquisitHealth, connects patients struggling to keep their Type 2 diabetes under control with fellow 1199SEIU members who have successfully done so. These members receive health coaching from their mentors, as well as personalized information from a licensed nutritionist. Since the program began in 2015, nearly 700 1199SEIU members have been able to improve their health and get their Type 2 diabetes under control. In fact, their overall A1C levels have declined an average of -1.08.

If you have 1199SEIU patients who can benefit from the Diabetes Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program, refer them to the program at (646) 893-1348.
