The 1199SEIU Training and Upgrading Fund has partnered with the 1199SEIU, the Health Career Advancement Program (H-CAP), and Crouse Hospital to provide a training program for Environmental Service Workers around “Green” principles in healthcare. The six areas of training include: Reducing Waste, Increasing Recycling, Decreasing Water Usage, Decreasing Energy Use, Using Green Cleaning Techniques, and Reducing Hospital-Acquired Infections. The program is aimed at using creative Labor and Management techniques to improve Patient Satisfaction, increase employee morale and participation, reduce hospital-acquired infection rates, and reduce facility costs.
