National Benefit Fund's Telehealth Benefit Shows Steady Uptake in First Year
Since the National Benefit Fund (NBF) first introduced Teladoc as a medical benefit in May 2017, the number of 1199SEIU members who have used the telehealth service has steadily increased. To date, 3,270 of your 1199SEIU employees and members have registered with Teladoc in order to access care when their doctor is unavailable. Through Teladoc, patients can speak with a licensed physician by phone or video from the comfort of home, rather than visit a more costly and time-consuming emergency room or urgent care center. On May 1, 2018, the NBF expanded the Teladoc benefit to include mental and behavioral health services, and many 1199SEIU employees and members have accessed the benefit in the month it has been available. It also offers information about high-demand healthcare professions and the training required to qualify for jobs in those fields. The new catalog is available at all 1199SEIU satellite offices and is online at www.1199SEIUFunds.org/training-news.

1199SEIU Family Day at the Children's Museum of Manhattan Is a Success
On Saturday, April 14, the 1199SEIU/Employer Child Care Corporation, along with the Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), provided a special all-access event for 1199SEIU members and their families. Those who arrived at the museum between 9:00 am and 10:00 am received free admission for the full day, as well as the chance to buy a family pass package, normally $224, for only $50. More than 450 members, spouses and children enjoyed the day at CMOM, which focuses its exhibits and interactive experiences around early childhood education and the importance of diversity and scientific and artistic pursuits. For more information about the CMOM event or any program offered by the Child Care Corporation or Child Care Fund, please call (212) 564-2220 or visit www.1199SEIUFunds.org/childcare.
