National Benefit Fund Members May Now File for Claims Reimbursement Online
The National Benefit Fund (NBF) covers most healthcare services for your 1199SEIU employees and members, with no out-of-pocket expenses to them. However, at times, they may need to file a claim to be reimbursed for payments they made for a covered expense, such as a new pair of eyeglasses or secondary expenses for dependents. Now they can submit their claims and upload documents online, which will help expedite reimbursement. Online claims reimbursement is our latest enhancement to help members better access their benefits. My Account also allows them to request a pension estimate, apply for their pension benefit, coordinate spousal benefits and update personal information. To learn more, your 1199SEIU employees and members may visit www.1199SEIUBenefits.org and log in to My Account.
Training and Upgrading Fund Unveils New Online Career Advancement Tool
Each year, the 1199SEIU League Training and Upgrading Fund (TUF) helps thousands of your 1199SEIU employees and members access the resources they need to advance in their careers. Now members can take advantage of a free online tool, Optimal Resume, which can help them develop their resume, practice interviewing skills and draft cover letters. This tool, which can be accessed from any digital device at any time, is part of TUF's ongoing efforts to prepare members for careers that meet the needs of an evolving healthcare industry. In addition to Optimal Resume, TUF offers members one-on-one counseling sessions to highlight new job opportunities, assists in researching available programs and services, and works with members to create specific plans to help them reach their academic and career goals.

Child Care Corporation Supports Efforts to Stop Climate Change
On September 16, more than 100 children from the1199SEIU Child Care Corporation's Future of America Learning Center (FALC), along with their families and FALC staff, marched in the Bronx to call for immediate action to end global climate change. The march was part of a worldwide youth effort to help raise awareness of the need to move toward renewable energy sources, and of the growing harmful effects of a warming planet, not just on the environment but also on people's health. FALC students also took part in an international day of action on September 20 in lower Manhattan, with members of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, in support of the Union's Labor Solidarity with Student Mobilization for Climate Initiative. For more information about FALC, visit www.1199SEIUFunds.org/FALC.
