In response to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's plea for retired healthcare workers to return to the workforce, the Pension Funds Trustees voted to temporarily waive the 40-hour-per-month work limit, which allows 1199SEIU pensioners to return to
institutions that have a memorandum of agreement with the Union, and fill key healthcare roles. Retirees who are interested and able to work can apply by visiting the 1199SEIU Training and Employment Fund's Employment Center (EC)
website and completing an online application. Employers who have worked with the EC/1199SEIU League Job Security Fund in the past should contact the recruiter with whom they typically work. Employers who do not have a current EC contact can email
EmployerContactTEF@1199Funds.org, list their name and phone
number, specify if an institution or facility, list the types of workers needed, and the EC will respond within 24 hours.
The Employment Center is following an expedited procedure to refer workers.
