2021 Funds Calendar Honors Healthcare Heroes
The Funds will soon release their 2021 Celebrating Our Healthcare Heroes calendar. This year, the Funds' calendar pays tribute to your 1199SEIU employees and members serving on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, for their tireless work in caring for their patients and residents. In addition to Trustees and delegates, the Funds are mailing the calendar to members who attended wellness workshops in early 2020 and participated in online wellness programs. Members may request a calendar by emailing the NBF's Wellness Department at Wellness@1199Funds.org.

Training and Employment Funds Help Members Online During COVID-19 Pandemic
The Training and Employment Funds (TEF) continue to assist your 1199SEIU employees and members with their education and training needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. TEF helps ease the financial strains of returning to school and provides career and academic guidance, which can be accessed remotely. TEF is also offering extended support and advisory services to your employees and members who may be reluctant to return to school during the pandemic or are having difficulty accessing services online. Child Care Fund Provides Emergency Financial Relief and Child-care Referrals
In response to child-care challenges facing front-line healthcare workers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 1199SEIU/Employer Child Care Fund (CCF) is providing your 1199SEIU employees and members with financial and other support. Thanks to generous donations from various funders, CCF was able to create an emergency financial assistance program. Members who are experiencing hardship can apply for aid and/or receive help in finding a child-care provider by completing the Emergency Child-care Relief Application. This five-hour seminar for perioperative techs (surgical, central sterile and anesthesia techs) will include discussions of minimally invasive spinal, cardiac and cancer surgeries, as well as changing surgical care in the time of COVID-19. The seminar will be offered via webinar (Zoom).

This six-hour interprofessional symposium for healthcare workers will include presentations on the physical and psychological effects of COVID-19 on patients with cardiovascular disease, treatments for cardiac complications from the coronavirus, and the role of nutrition in recovering COVID-19 patients. This symposium will be offered via live webcast (Internet).
