The 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds (TEF) are dedicated to ensuring that you have the skills and resources you need to realize your academic and professional dreams, which not only benefits your patients and residents but our entire community. Throughout the year, TEF offers a series of workshops to help you understand your training and education benefits and make the best career choices. Here are some of the current offerings:

  • Career Planning Workshop: Explore fields of study and learn more about emerging healthcare professions.
  • Tuition Assistance Workshop: Receive step-by-step instructions on how to access financial aid from the Funds.
  • Upgrade Strategies Workshop: Get an updated look at the healthcare job industry and receive help with resume preparation, goal reevaluation and creating an action plan.

If you’re interested in one-on-one academic and career counseling, counselors are available at all TEF sites in the New York City metropolitan area (see below), online or on the Counseling Hotline (212-284-9210). Counselors can give you all the information you need and answer questions about the benefits available to you.
