Rochester: The Health Careers College Core Curriculum (HC4 Program)
The HC4 Program in Rochester works in conjunction with Monroe Community College (MCC) to help increase college success for our participants. Classes are held at the MCC Brighton campus on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in fall and spring semesters. 18 credits of HC4 classes are offered to participants to help ease the transition to college and provide a solid foundation so that students can succeed in college once they finish their HC4 courses. Tuition can be paid using the Training Fund tuition benefits.
HC4 helps participants:
- Go to college in a supported environment
- Increase success in college through tutoring and counseling
- Pick a major that is right for them
- Form lasting bonds and a supportive network of work colleagues that attend the HC4 program together as a cohort
As an added benefit, 1199SEIU and SEIU Local 200 members employed at the University of Rochester who participate in the HC4 program can attend their HC4 courses on paid work release time.
New HC4 Programs begin every spring and fall semester.
