Greater New York Education Fund Launches Tuition Assistance Online Workshop
The 1199SEIU Greater New York Education Fund (GNYEF) in April launched the Tuition Assistance for Degree Programs Online Workshop, its first in-house, fully online program on the digital workforce development platform HWapps. The one-hour workshop provides members not only with an overview of their education benefits but also with information on ways they can further their careers through higher education. Topics covered in the workshop include enrolling in undergraduate and graduate degree programs, identifying potential growth professions, managing work-life-school balance and accessing tuition assistance benefits. This workshop is part of the GNYEF's ongoing efforts to provide members with programs that can be accessed remotely and will help prepare them for careers that meet the needs of an evolving healthcare industry.

Please visit the Tuition Assistance for Degree Programs Online Workshop's web page for more information, including registration, and visit the 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds' website to learn more about their programs and services.
Child Care Fund's Cultural Arts Program Provides Weekend Classes
The 1199SEIU Child Care Fund's (CCF) Cultural Arts Program (CAP) offers weekend classes during the school year, with a CCF-contracted provider, to your eligible employees' and members' children ages 5 to 17. The CAP helps cultivate creative thinking, build confidence and develop leadership skills by offering children the opportunity to experience cultural and academic enrichment programming at New York City and metro-area institutions. Children participate in activities such as dance, music, theater, fitness, and arts and crafts, and can take part in technology lessons, tutoring sessions and SAT preparation classes. During the 2018-2019 school year, the CAP has served 67 children and teenagers at classes at the Harlem School of the Arts, Hofstra University and Mosholu Montefiore Community Center. Registration for the next round of CAP classes will be in the fall of 2019. For more information, email ChildCare@1199Funds.org or call (212) 564-2220.
