New Pharmacy Benefit Provider Effective July 1

Starting on July 1, CVS Caremark will replace Express Scripts as the Benefit Funds’ pharmacy benefit provider. At that time, providers should: 

• Submit maintenance medications as 30-day or 90-day supplies. The Fund’s pharmacy network offers easy and convenient pharmacy choices for filling maintenance medication prescriptions. Providers can e-prescribe (mandated by NYS law) prescription orders for maintenance medications to CVS, Walgreens, Duane Reade or other participating pharmacies.
• Submit specialty drug prescriptions to CVS Caremark instead of Accredo; and 
• Review the CVS Standard Control with the Advanced Control Specialty Formulary for formulary information on the Benefit Funds’ website or call (833) 250-3273. 

There will be one CVS telephone number for members, physicians and pharmacies to call regarding prescription benefits for their Benefit Funds patients. Details will be available on the Benefit Funds’ Prescription Program page starting on July 1.
