Beginning May 1, you and your eligible family members will be able to consult a mental health care professional for behavioral and mental health issues through your Teladoc benefit. This new benefit is only available to dependents age 18 and older. If your child needs behavioral health support, please contact our Wellness Member Assistance Program at (646) 473-6900 or your child’s primary care physician for a referral.

If you’re suffering from stress, anxiety, depression, issues related to addiction or another behavioral or mental health condition that is not an emergency, call Teladoc at (800) 835-2362 or log in to Teladoc at www.Teladoc.com to schedule an appointment and get the help you need. Anyone who has sought help for mental health issues knows that the first step—finding the right treatment—can often be the hardest. With Teladoc, you can connect with a licensed psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, counselor or social worker by phone from the privacy and convenience of your own home. And once you choose a therapist or doctor, you can continue your treatment with that person. If necessary, a Teladoc psychiatrist can prescribe medication you may need.

After each visit, Teladoc will send you a confirmation notice through your account. Following your second and sixth visits, a nurse will call you to check in and see how you are feeling. If you need six or more visits, your Teladoc therapist will speak to you about ongoing treatment. Of course, if you have any physical health problems and your doctor is not available, remember to make Teladoc your first visit. Quality care is just a phone call or mouse click away!

If you haven’t set up your Teladoc account, visit www.Teladoc.com and click on “Set Up Account.” Once you log in, click on the “My Medical History” tab, complete the information and you’re done!
