Dieticians

Continuing Education (CE)

  • Up to $750 per calendar year, which includes:
    • Fund-sponsored seminars (at no out-of-pocket cost)
    • CE Direct (at no out-of-pocket cost)
    • CE Reimbursement (offered by external CE providers)

Licensure/Certification Fees

  • Up to $179 every three years for New York State licensure fee
  • Up to $60 annually for Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing fee
Microbiologists, Laboratory Technologists, Laboratory Technicians, Phlebotomy Technicians, Hospital Technicians

  • Up to $224 every three years for New York State licensure fee

Degree and Credit-bearing Certificate Programs: Tuition Assistance

For all of the above job titles.

Undergraduate Degree* and Undergraduate Credit-bearing Certificate Programs

  • Paid at no more than the base City University of New York (CUNY) undergraduate tuition rate: currently $295 per credit. Up to 24 credits per calendar year.

Vouchers available for CUNY and participating SUNY (State University of New York) colleges.

*Must show proof that student has applied for financial aid.

Graduate Degree and Graduate Credit-bearing Certificate Programs

  • Paid at no more than the base City University of New York (CUNY) graduate tuition rate: currently $455 per credit. Up to 12 credits per calendar year.

Vouchers available for CUNY and participating SUNY (State University of New York) colleges.

First-time applicants for undergraduate and graduate degree and credit-bearing tuition reimbursement must meet with the 1199SEIU City Fund Counselor for pre-approval.

All applicants for tuition vouchers must meet with the 1199SEIU City Fund Counselor.

Eligibility

You must be continuously employed for at least one year in a bargaining unit position, working full time or part time for the City of New York or NYC Health + Hospitals. Part-time eligibility requires a minimum of 70 hours in a 28-day cycle. Full-time employees are eligible to receive 100 percent of the education and training benefits. Part-time employees are eligible to receive up to 60 percent of the education and training benefits.
