2023 Summer Rising Program

The Summer Rising program, a collaboration between New York City’s Department of Education (DOE) and Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), provides academic support and school-based enrichment programming led by Community Based Organizations (CBOs) for students in grades K through 8.

Students will have daily opportunities to play, create, explore and develop new interests with peers and adults to encourage curiosity and an interest in learning. The 2023 Summer Rising program enrollment period is now open, and interested members are encouraged to apply early to secure a spot at their desired location.

The NYC Parks Department offers lots of fun and free summer activities throughout New York City, including outdoor pools and swim programs, summer meals, organized sports, digital tech programs, movies, rec centers and family camping.

Police Athletic League Summer Day Camp

The Police Athletic League (PAL) offers children ages 5-13 a free summer experience: PAL Summer Day Camp. The seven-week program includes academic enrichment, arts and culture opportunities and fun physical fitness activities. Participants in PAL Summer Day Camp have benefitted from increased physical activity and engagement in the arts, decreased summer learning loss and improved communication skills and self-esteem.
