If you need help paying for child care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, you may be eligible for this special New York State child-care scholarship.
Find out if you’re eligible to receive financial assistance for child care through New York State’s Essential Worker Scholarship. If you received assistance under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES), you should also apply for this new funding opportunity, as CARES funding ended June 28.
Scholarships may be used toward existing child-care arrangements or for a new provider, and weekly payments will be made on the parents’ behalf by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
Essential Worker Scholarships are available only to New York State residents and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds are depleted. For more information and to apply for the funding, visit the New York State website.
